Patient Spotlight
Chitra, age 42, suffered from cataracts in both her eyes.  This condition started to impact her home life and her ability to earn daily wages through farm work. At the Sankara Eye Foundation camp, she was diagnosed with cataract and transported to Sankara’s base hospital for treatment.
Volunteer Spotlight
As a young child, Rama Dasu witnessed a horrific farm accident which left his uncle blind in both eyes. He was then eight- or nine-years old. The incident affected him deeply. “I saw first hand the suffering of a blind person. It gave me a lifelong connection to the cause of eradicating blindness."
Partner Spotlight
Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital (AJEH) is located in Mastichak, Bihar and was established in 2005. It is the largest eye hospital in eastern India and among the top five hospitals in India providing free eye care services. AJEH is headquartered in Mastichak, a rural area about 50 kms from Patna.
